Some of you may have noticed that my posts are not the most polished of works. This is actually on purpose for a couple of reasons. One, I want my readers to experience my raw emotion when I write a post; nothing to hide my feelings as I weave my tapestry. Hear the clicking and clacking of the keyboard as it grows faster with anger or tentatively slower with an aching heart. If I get even a flicker of any kind of emotion from another person from my stories, I feel giddy and can’t help but smile. Second, it is to show others where a writer begins. Every great author had to start somewhere and many struggled at first to get that first book published. But it is also important to show that they were not all fantastic writers at first. They had to learn the skills of the trade before becoming the great story tellers they were meant to be. Which brings me to my third reason, humility. I want to look back on these posts and remind myself not to get too big for my britches. Honestly, I believe that I will find great success in my future and do not want to lose myself in that achievement. So here my first thoughts shall be scribbled down, you hear that future me? Do. not. forget. yourself. Money does not buy you happiness and everyone is equal.

Oh exciting news everyone. I have decided to go into self-publishing as I have ran into a sum of money as of late. Once that comes in I can start that process. Further postings will keep you up on my adventures on this new frontier.

Passed Away

Ironic… a writer who is at a lost for words.

Honestly, I have tried to write this post a couple times now, but every time it does not seem quite right. Either it’s too cheesy or just does not have the right feel. In the end, I think the best way to honor someone’s life is to reveal your favorite memory with them. Mine is not a specific one, per se, rather a general set of events. You see at one time I was taking guitar lessons at the same time my brother was taking drum lessons. The place was not where we lived, but in the city of Manchester. This was the one day I saw my dad on a regular basis due to a variety of factors. Anyways, after the music had ended we always headed to the same diner, the Red Arrow Diner. There we would just sit and talk about our week while eating some great food. Those are my favorite memories; the simplicity of enjoying one’s company and talking about everything but nothing all at once. I remember the laughs that would make people look at us funny until they would join in the chuckle. Pretty sure we knew the whole staff at that place at one point. Dad always seemed to bring out the fun in everyone.

See you later Dad, I know I will meet you again some day at a counter for another round of laughter and food. I love you very much.

For those of you who read this I want you to take one thing away from this.. Spend time with the ones you love. One never knows when life will end. Don’t keep saying I will visit them later or when you have time, because sometimes that ends up being never. Time will pass on whether you are ready for it to do so or not. Thank you for reading.

Cats

Everyone’s favorite furry creatures are going to be inhabiting my dwelling place. I feel the disturbance in the force from all the dog lovers who read this, but it is just my opinion. Excitement fills my being as my house has been transformed to fit their needs. My future mother-in-law spoiled them as we have many toys, a climbing tree, bed, an enclosed litter box, and enough supplies to provide more than adequate care of them. I am looking forward to seeing them hop and jump around like crazy creatures, but also to enjoy the calm times when they purr from the gentlest of touches.

My last cat I had an incredibly strong bond with to the point where she would defend me from harm by even the likes of dogs several times her size. Her name was Sam, the mighty huntress and fierce defender. When I went on walks in the woods, she would be close behind following me on the trails; meowing when she thought we ventured too far. Her protectiveness did not even stop there. My future wife’s first introduction to this creature was the cat laying on top of our joined hands. After awhile though Sam warmed up to her and would seek her out for cuddles. It was saddening when she passed; the only comforting thought being she was reunited with her kittens again.

But enough with the depressing point of life. I am excited to make new memories with these two new additions to my family. They are sure to bring much joy and excitement to my life. Hopefully, they do not destroy my house too much.

Hurricane

Twisting and turning

Violent and swirling

It wreaks havoc wherever it drops.

Brings about loss in crops

Terror to those who thought

That life can be a simple trot.

Nothing to call it but tragedy

But it can also bring about unity.

For in these disastrous times

One can see that humans’ generosity is sublime.

This would be my attempt at poetry for a very hectic couple of months. I had a family member in and out of the hospital, and yes they are alright; but it did get me observe something. Very much in life we look at something as negative and nothing else. We look at the broad aspect of the original impact and think of all the short term in the moment. But… if one sits back for only just a moment, one finds a different point of view. Taking something too fast can lead to misdirection and confusion that will lead inevitably to destruction. I encourage you to take it slow and see every moment that comes your way. At least, that is the philosophy I will be trying to return to.

A Year on the Path

A year, a whole year has gone by since I started this site; my attempt to hone my craft and get some insight. Confidence is mostly what I have found oddly enough. For despite having many rejections, it is never on the grounds of the story being bad. They all agree that it is quite good, but just does not feel like their book to champion. Then there is all of you reading. Your support has meant a lot; to know that others enjoy my work enough to follow every bit of content I post makes all the difference for me to keep moving forward. I have yet to achieve my dream, but with all you behind me I know I can grasp it. So, thank you for following, liking, and sharing my writing to those you know.

Now on a far less serious note, you may have noticed that in the past month I had not been posting. There is a perfectly logical explanation for this factor. Simply said, I kind of got lost in a whirlwind of ideas. For some reason, I was struck with ideas for several books, a theme park, short stories, and the most nerdy of them all, a Pokemon region. Before I go any further, I do not own the rights to the Pokemon franchise or speak for that company. I hope that was good enough to not get me in trouble. Since it was quite like a whirlwind; I am going to split them up below and let you know how I was working on each.

-Books: First up is the one I most work on, which is writing books. I continued working on my second book in my Scales series along with coming up with new ideas for future stories. Those included in such genres as science fiction, political fiction, a super hero series, and a pretty funny comedy. I cannot give you the details just yet until each is finished cause i do not want any raccoons stealing my ideas. (My nice way of saying thieves without saying thieves.)

-Theme Park: As said at the end above, I cannot give you too much information on this one either until it is finished. However, I will tell you that unlike my other projects, I am working with others to complete it. Hopefully, it can be completed to our satisfaction and presented to a company for further analysis on its worth. As of right now, three rides have been designed, a theme has been decided, a couple fun events have been planned to be done in the park, unique food, and some interesting gift shop ideas. I do not know if it would become a reality, but the group and I are going to give it a shot.

-Short Stories: I do believe that I have come up with enough epic retelling ideas to form my collection that I was going to tried to get published after my first book. They can be a bit darker, but it brings a classic mythological twist to stories we are all familiar with. I do hope you have enjoyed reading them thus far. I may post one or two more to this site, but that is still up in the air; don’t want to give you too many or you might not buy the book when it comes out.

-Pokemon Region: Again, I do not own the rights to Pokemon or speak on behalf of its company. Growing up, playing the games was a way to escape from the world and engage in a far more imaginative one. Starting out with my grass starters on my journey through new lands and creatures. It is partly what drew me to writing fantasy stories in the first place. The new games are coming out soon and it made me think on a region idea they had not done yet. So, I started making the Pokemon and coming up with the enemy team that our young heroes would have to face. Thus far, I think I am almost up to one hundred new Pokemon made for this idea. When I have it all finished with the complete story and Pokedex; I do intend on contacting the Pokemon Company/Gamefreak/Nintendo/Creatures and pitching my idea to them. That would not be for some time from now, but I will keep you posted on that endeavor.

As you can see I am keeping myself busy as always. Thank you again for all the support that you give and I sincerely apologize for neglecting this site the past couple days. I look forward to sharing with all of you more in the next coming year. Keep dreaming and forging ahead.
